Welcome to the Dienten am Hochkönig Ski School! Our ski experts have been providing learning success and fun both on and off piste since 1954. Skiing and snowboarding courses for children or adults, on or off piste, and ski tours off the beaten track - Your perfect mountain partners.
What makes us a world champion ski school? In 2001 our ski school were world champions in formation skiing; something we are still proud of today!
The Dienten Ski School offers courses for everyone, from beginners through to experts, we are here for you. As well as our range of courses, you can also book private instruction, ski guiding, and guided ski tours through us.

Courses for young skiers
COURSES FOR CHILDREN & TEENAGERS
For children from the age of 4.
Course times: Sunday - Thursday half day 10:00 - 12:00 or full day 10:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 15:00
Course start for beginners: Sunday
Course start for intermediates: Sunday - Thursday (according to availability)
Lunchtime supervision: incl. food and drink bookable as extra
Meeting point: Ski school office & meeting place at the Zachhof Babylift
- Our own children's training area at the Zachhof-Babylift with roundabout, conveyor lift, Schneewutzel figures, magic carpet and more.
- Free beginners' lift & Schneewutzel lift entrances for under 6's.
- All children wear ski school tricots for safety during lessons.
- Children under 15 must wear a helmet.
For teenagers:
We offer further courses in New School Skiing, Funpark Training, Freeriding, Avalanche Check, etc.

Children's group allocation
Group allocation takes place on the first day after a ski-down. Anyone who cannot brake or turn is classed as a beginner. No prior knowledge is necessary. Intermediates are those who can brake and turn on blue pistes (e.g. able to use with the practice lift after their first ski course).
After a year's gap it may well happen that children have difficulties at the start. Don't worry though, if they find themselves in a slower group and make quick progress, especially during the initial days, then a change of groups is possible.
We recommend booking your ski course and equipment online in advance. Portis Sportshop offers 10% discount on equipment hire when booking a course with the Dienten Ski School. We will prepare everything for you so that you don't have to wait when you arrive.

Children's Race every Thursday!
Every Thursday a final ski race takes place followed by a Schneewutzel awards ceremony. Every child gets a medal and certificate.

Snowboarding
SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTION
Course times: Monday - Thursday half day 10:00 - 12:00 or full day 10:00 - 12.00 and 13:00 - 15:00
Course start for beginners: Monday
Course start for intermediates: Monday - Thursday (according to availability)
Meeting point: Ski school office & meeting place at the Zachhof Babylift
- Beginners are those who have never been on a snowboard before. No prior knowledge necessary.
- Intermediates can brake safely and perform a drift turn in flat terrain. Group allocation takes place on the first day after showing us your standard.
- Children under 15 must wear a helmet."
Quick progress
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Private lessons are the most effective way of learning skiing or snowboarding.
Whether you are an adult, child, or teenager, those at the start of their skiing career or those wanting to refresh their ability will benefit from targeted private instruction. Your personal ski instructor takes care of you, concentrating on your individual requirements. Treat yourself to a private instructor for you alone, or for a group put together by you, your family, or simply with a few friends.
Please note that the ability of everyone in the group should be similar as your instructor must teach with the weakest member of the group in mind.
We offer special private lessons in free riding, powder skiing, moguls, special technique courses, or individual race training.
Lesson times: mornings 9:00 - 13:15, afternoons 13:00 - 16:00

Arrive in good time so that your private lesson can start punctually. Best results are achieved with lessons of 2 or more hours

All our ski & snowboard instructors areOf course qualified and trained in first aid.
Lift Passes are not included in the price of lessons, but with good progress they are often necessary after the first day. Children up to the age of 6 can use the Shneewutzel lift entrances free of charge.
We recommend that helmets are worn in all lessons for safety reasons. Children under the age of 15 must wear a helmet.
On Fridays we give everyone the chance of showing what they have learnt to family and friends on a ski day together.
